Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced a recall of Grand Vitara SUVs sold in India. The recall is due to a probable flaw in the model’s fuel level monitor and warning system. According to the automaker’s statement in a regulatory filing, 39,506 units of the SUV were impacted, built between December 9, 2024 and April 29, 2025.
According to the Indian carmaker, the fuel level indicator and warning light within the speedometer unit may not correctly display the petrol level, thereby misleading drivers about the amount of petrol remaining in the tank.

The brand will resolve the issue by contacting the owners of the affected automobiles personally. Customers who are affected will be asked to attend an authorised Maruti Suzuki service centre for an examination and replacement of the problematic item. The firm guaranteed that the repair will be made at no cost to the owners.
The recall has been undertaken as a precautionary measure, and MSIL has asked consumers to respond quickly to messages from dealer workshops to guarantee the safe functioning of their cars in the future.
