Vivo recently released two new flagship phones, with most attention on the X300 Pro. The focus here is on the standard model Vivo X300, which serves as a successor to last year’s X200 Pro Mini. The X300 maintains a compact design featuring a newer and more powerful system and offers a larger battery capacity. And its comes in base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and top model is 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

Battery and Charging Features

The Vivo X300 is under 8mm thick, yet it also has a large 6040 mAh silicon-carbon battery. And it supports fast charging with a 90W charger, reaching 40% in 20 minutes and full charges in under an hour. It offers 40W wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, and bypass charging during gaming. The phone feels compact and sleek with a matte-finished glass back that is highly resistant.

Design and Display Details

The phone highlights slim bezels and a flat display and back with slightly rounded edges and curved corners, making it comfortable to hold, similar to the OnePlus 13S but with a better-placed ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. It has an IP68/IP69 protection rating and a USB Type-C 3.2 port with video out. And the display is a 6.31-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, LTPO2 technology allowing refresh rates from 1 to 120Hz, and a peak brightness of about 1300 nits, suitable for outdoor use.

It also offers 2160 Hz PWM dimming and DC light dimming options for low light. The display is paired with excellent stereo speakers, providing a strong audiovisual experience. The phone is powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, delivering around a 20% performance boost.

Performance and software features

Benchmark tests show that the X300 performs well, but after four minutes of stress testing, it loses roughly half of its performance, which is common for small flagship phones with MediaTek chips. Even after 20 minutes of constant stress, the device maintains its coolness, with temperatures remaining below 45°C. It has Origin OS 6, which is based on Android 16, and should run most games smoothly. Vivo makes a respectable commitment by promising four significant Android version updates. With features like customizable flip card themes, Origin OS is a fun and well-designed operating system.

Camera AI Features and Modes

It starts with a lock screen that you can change, which shows different pictures with different transition styles. The AI storyboard feature makes clean, social media-ready composite images when you take high-resolution photos at 50 or 200 megapixels. However, some of the processing happens off-device. Users can make a custom beauty mode in portrait mode by uploading up to ten pictures of the subject. The phone can also automatically get rid of people in the background, and Vivo has greatly improved the cutout and move-around feature for almost perfect results.

There are more portrait styles and a snapshot mode that make taking pictures of pets easier and better. The device can record 10-bit log video at up to 4K 120fps and has a preview LUT feature that lets you see what the final look will be like.
