The Samsung Galaxy M35 has been on the market for more than a year since its launch, a phone launched under 20,000 rupees and the successor to the Galaxy M34. It highlights the anticipation around budget phones in this price range and notes improvements over the M34, such as the removal of the teardrop notch, replaced by a punch-hole display.

The M35 features a front camera design that gives it a modern 2024 smartphone appearance. And the bezels are thick and mostly symmetrical, the bottom bezel is slightly larger. A significant upgrade is the inclusion of Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, which is rare in this price segment

The features a 120Hz AMOLED display, offering smooth performance, vibrant colors, and wide viewing angles. While Netflix does not support HDR, YouTube HDR videos display well on the panel. The screen reaches 1000 nits brightness in high brightness mode, making outdoor use comfortable. Additionally, the Galaxy M35 now includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, enhancing the audio experience.
Battery:
The M35 feels very well-balanced despite its large size, mainly due to its weight distribution. It contains a 6,000 mAh battery that can last up to a day and a half. However, there is no charger included in the box, and fast charging is 25 watts. And a significant upgrade in this model is the Exynos 1380 chipset, which is more powerful than the previous Exynos 1280. Additionally, it features LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage technology.
Performance:
So the Exynos 1380 chipset it highlights its strong benchmark scores, including a 600k score in N2 on the M35, which is impressive for its segment. It praises the chipset’s stability in 3D mark tests and notes minimal CPU throttling. And there is no unusual issues observed in this chipset.

The Samsung Galaxy M35 performs consistently in everyday usage without stuttering or lag. Gaming experience is smooth, supporting HDR Ultra and smooth extreme settings in BGMI at 60 FPS without major lag. Temperature remains normal around 40-41°C after extended gaming sessions, showing no signs of random overheating. This performance is observed on One UI 6.1 running Android 14.
Software and Security Features
The Galaxy AI includes essential features usually found in flagship devices, though it lacks advanced security options like a secure folder. It supports Always On Display and Quick Share and integrates well with the Samsung ecosystem. Additional features include an image clipper and NFC Support, which is uncommon in this segment. The device also offers the Samsung Wallet app with tap to pay functionality, allowing users to add cards and UPI for payments.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy M35 offers impressive camera performance, comparable to higher-end models, with unchanged but strong specs including a 50MP main camera featuring improved optical and video stabilisation, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens often missing in phones under 20K. Daytime photos are sharp and detailed, and portrait mode performs well despite occasional edge detection issues. Night shots are improved, producing bright and sharp images with effective auto night mode, though some photos may appear oversharpened. The ultra-wide camera generally matches the main camera’s colour accuracy. Additionally, both rear and front cameras support 4K video recording with very good video quality.
